Tondol Beach and Panacalan Sandbar – Anda, Pangasinan

The municipality of Anda Pangasinan consists primarily of Cabarruyan Island (also known as Anda Island), as well as minor surrounding islets. Because of Anda’s proximity near the Hundred Islands, a popular tourist destination in Pangasinan, it is the so-called “Mother of the Hundred Islands.”

Tondol White Sand Beach is located at the northern tip of Anda, an island municipality that used to be accessible only by boat across the narrow Catubig Channel. In the early 1990s, a bridge across the channel was constructed to connect the island to Brgy. Tara, Bolinao, Pangasinan.

It became a favorite among tourists because of the long shallow nature of the beach. Tanduyong Island is almost a kilometer away which can be reached on foot during low tide. It’s best to visit Tondol Beach during the summer or dry months and most especially during low tide for you to experience and enjoy the beauty of the beach.

Tanduyong Island

Tanduyong Island is a nearby island to Tondol Beach in Anda Pangasinan. It is a small island with a long stretch of white sand and tropical trees. It is just a kilometer away from Tondol Beach which can be reached on foot during low tide. For tourists, Tanduyong Island is a tranquil haven because of the beautiful seascapes and the crystal-clear water surrounding the island.

Panacalan Sandbar

Anda Pangasinan also became popular because of its Panacalan Sandbar. From Tondol beach in Anda, ride a boat to Panacalan Island (travel time is 30 minutes). This long stretch of the sandbar in Pangasinan with crystal clear waters and powdery white sands will surely take your breath away.

Swimming & Snorkeling

The beach has a wide and shallow waters which makes it an ideal beach for swimming. The water is crystal-clear and has a white fine sand. The beach is also good for snorkeling. Just bring your snorkel or buy one in souvenir shops in the area..

You can experience and see the sandbar during low tide. Tide varies from time to time, so make sure you stay to Toldol Beach the whole day to experience the sandbar.

Fishing

Fishing in Tondol Beach is allowed. Fishing is also a good activities if you visit the beach. Fishing rod and line is best for shallow waters.

This long stretch of sandbar in Pangasinan with crystal clear waters and powdery white sands will surely take your breath away.
It is situated next to the marine sanctuary. There are no establishment or store in the island so bring your own food and water before going to the sandbar. Tent pitching is allowed in the sandbar. Boat rental for island hopping is P1,500-P2,000, good for 12 persons. The best months to visit Panacalan is from February to May.

How To Get To Anda Pangasinan From Manila

    • VIA BUS (Manila to Alaminos to Anda)

From Cubao or Pasay bus station, ride a bus going to Alaminos Pangasinan. Travel time is roughly 5 to 6 hours.
From Alaminos get a mini bus to Anda town proper.
Then a trike to Tondol Beach.
From Tondol beach in Anda, Pangasinan ride a boat to Panacalan Island (travel time is 30 minutes).

Note: Dagupan Liner and Five Star Bus have direct trips from Cubao to Anda, direct trips are still limited.

    • VIA BUS (Manila to Bolinao to Anda)

From Cubao or Pasay bus station, ride a bus going to Alaminos Pangasinan. Travel time is roughly 5 to 6 hours.
Get off at Brgy. Tara Bolinao Pangasinan. Tell the conductor to drop you off at the crossing going to Anda Pangasinan.
From here, you can ride a tricycle going to the town proper of Anda. Ask the driver to transfer you to a tricycle going to Tondol Beach.
Or From Brgy. Tara Bolinao Pangasinan, ride a tricycle going to Tondol Beach.

Pangasinan by private vehicle:

  • If you’re coming from Metro Manila, take the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and continue on to Tarlac via the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).
  • From Tarlac City take the road to Camiling and on to Alaminos.
  • From Alaminos, continue on the road going to Bolinao pass the town of Bani.
  • There is a fork on the road after Bani that goes on to Anda.
  • From Tondol beach in Anda, Pangasinan ride a boat to Panacalan Island (travel time is 30 minutes).
